Emilie Wildrick's Story

Emilie went into labor in January of 2002. Instead of a C-Section, a vacuum assist was used, even though she was not fully dilated. A midwife performed the delivery, as the physician was not available. As a result of the vacuum assist, Emilie suffered extensive damage to her lower extremities. The damage was so extensive that, to this day, her bowels do not function properly.

Instead of enjoying being a new mother, Emilie was in distress and unable to get anyone with the provider to explain the injuries that she received. She will need to go back to surgery on a semi-regular basis as the implant for her bowel function needs periodic replacements.
